Introducing Nadège Tricot of ''Tricot by Tricot''

It's been a real joy discovering different makers to feature in the folk berlin store & I wanted to use this blog to introduce some of the people behind the brands so that you can get to know them & their inspiration a little more.

Here i would like to introduce Nadège Tricot, the designer behind ''Tricot by Tricot'' who hand makes beautiful paper mobiles in her Parisian atelier.

What inspired you to create ''Tricot by Tricot''?

As a graphic designer I always had an interest in paper and printing. I was also fond of old children books and modern design. I came to illustration later. I started drawing characters and then I discovered laser cutting in a collective workshop. The project ''Tricot by Tricot'' began there, the first small series of paper mobiles came out very quickly.

What is your background? Did it influence you to start your own business?

I was already an independent designer when I started ''Tricot by Tricot''. It did help for the administrative part. However making paper mobiles is a totaly different approach, the distribution is the big deal, the creative part is only the first step of the whole business.

What inspires your products?

My inspiration comes from modern art and design, japan, nordic landscapes, animist tales, ...
