Jellycat Bashful Black & Cream Rufferty Puppy may look like your average black and cream-coloured ball of fur – but don't be fooled. His story is worth barking about.

Bashful Bunny knew that Bartholomew Bear wasn't particularly fond of the dark (who is?). So she gave him a nighttime companion with the softest ears and the biggest heart she could find.

Since then, Rufferty has taken his role as Bart's right-hand man very seriously. He's not just there for cuddles – he's moral support on call: as head of stage-side atmosphere (he never laughs at a mishap), quality control inspector of custard, and emotional support during costume fittings (the eggplant look was... an experiment).

Loyal, lovable and a little clumsy on the dance floor, Rufferty follows Bartholomew everywhere – and sits on command when snacks are mentioned.

He may be quiet, but he's really good at always being there.
